Luckett Farms CSA

Week 12

WOW!!! It is Very Hard for me to believe that the Fall Season is over.
This season flew by so quickly! It seem like Yesterday was September 7th and we were starting week 1 of this 14 week Season. Now here we are on Week 12. The final week.

Derek and I hope that you and your families have delighted in all the goodness of the fall harvest. We are optimistic in thinking that maybe you tried and liked a different vegetable, That you found a way to plan your meals around your CSA box or maybe you even found a good salsa recipe for all those tomatoes (in this case I would be disappointed in you if you withheld this valuable info from ME lol) Maybe you are not as scared of the fall squash as you once were. Overall it is our desire that you have been educated thru the CSA on seasonal Veggies and Fruits (even if you maybe tired of eating a few of them) and will continue to support and promote eating seasonally & hopefully Local too. 🙂

Each season we learn and experience so many new things. In everyday life, no matter what your “occupation”, many bumps usually arise in the road, we get the choice on how we will respond to the bumps. This season has had a few bumps but overall I think it went pretty well. Derek always plants things that never end up in the boxes because the seeds don’t come up, because the deer/ bugs or other critter eat it before picking, we do not have enough time to pick it, or sometimes the weather takes control. This is getting better every season but still does occur. This is always a work in progress here at the Farm.

Farming is not an easy or cheap career choice. Most days I question our sanity. Maybe that is one of the reason there are so few young farmers these days. Like any job it has it imperfections but we strive each season to provide the best that we can to our members. There are many challenges but equally as many rewards! This is what keeps us going. We are so blessed to build relationships and new friendships with each of you. It is astounding to me that our Food can bring us together this way. It is also comforting for me to know that we have such a connection with our members and our community. It truly makes me smile. We always enjoy sharing our farming struggles and fruitful harvest stories with yall. We are always so happy to hear your stories also.

Derek and I love the feedback, recipes, and encouragement you provide to us. So THANK YOU for making this “Dream” become a Reality! Without you we would not be here today. Thanks So Much for your Support.
If you have any tips or helpful ideas you would like to share please let me know.

We Hope everyone has a Safe and Happy Christmas and New Year.

Thanks So very Much,
Kacie
